Strengthening Social Work Practice Across Somalia
Somali Social Workers Association (SSWA) is a non-profit professional organization made up of dedicated practitioners. Established to respond to growing social challenges, we focus on capacity building, protection of vulnerable groups, and community-based initiatives.
Our goal is to promote social justice, dignity, and sustainable development through ethical and skilled social work practice.
Key Areas of Intervention
SSWA implements community-based initiatives that address real needs on the ground through three core pillars.
Social Protection & Welfare
Advocating for inclusive protection systems and collaborating with agencies to address poverty, displacement, and vulnerability.
Child Protection & Family Support
Safeguarding children, strengthening family units, and preventing abuse through awareness campaigns and case management.
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support
Providing guidance and psychosocial interventions to support trauma recovery, especially among conflict-affected populations.
Guided by Professional Integrity & Transparency
We believe in a "person-in-environment" approach. Every action we take is grounded in ethical practice to ensure dignity, inclusion, and equality for all Somali communities.

Building Bridges for a Resilient Society
